What is: Things you do on Superbowl Sunday!

Superbowl ROCKED!
I will admit there are two things I'd "do over" if I could. As much fun as I have leering at strange men wearing banana-hammocks (banana included), I think instead of the strip club, we should've gone dancing. It basically costs a lot more to drink there, and afterwards certain…needs previously tamped down and kept at bay, rose to the surface and have been a force to be reckoned with. And I learned I still haven't grown out of the whole "I don't like strangers touching me" thing.

My first foray into the seedy underbelly of mostly nekkid, gyrating men happened when I was either 18 or 19. We had "kidnapped" our bonfire chair and driven to Le Bares in Houston. What I remember most was not knowing where to look, and getting caught by one of the dancers who I THOUGHT was doing some sort of backbend, so I took the opportunity to stare. Turns out the guy was some sort of contortionist b/c he was staring intently back the whole time. When I discovered this, I pretty much kept my head down for the rest of the evening. I've only been to stripper bars 2 or 3 times after that, and while I no longer have a difficult time admiring the view and verbally showing my appreciation, I just don't like meaningless touching. (Anyone who knows me for any length of time can certainly vouch for that.) My own neurosis aside (yes Katie, I know- I'm so dramatic…) my partner in crime has NOOO problem feeling up on some hairless, athletic dancers, and more importantly, having the favor returned. Yet, as her text from Tuesday relayed, I think she too is done w/pole dancers for now: "Damn stripper club..I keep finding dollar bills everywhere!"

The second thing I'd do differently is...uh...well...I want to watch more of the game! Ha ha! One of my friends suggested that I tape it next time so that the morning after I can really catch the action. I dunno..once you know who has won, its kind of a moot point, and I did catch some really good (and some really disappointing) plays. But there were some times when it was hard to choose between watching the action on the TV, and watching the action in the bar. I think I now have seen how the other half of the "football season widows" live (and I understand.)

Work has been hectic, and my math class has proven to be much more challenging than anticipated. All right, I'm not really being honest when I say that b/c I have done none of the homework (0 problems completed) and our first exam is coming up the week of the 19th. BUT, I have been to every class (something VERY new to me), and I'm certain that as soon as I dig in and start practicing the concepts, I will be able to do well on the test. Well enough…. :-)

Lastly, I'm looking forward to my impending trip to Colorado to attend my oldest friend's wedding. (She's my age; we met when we were 12-yrs-old.) The plane tickets are purchased, the rental car is arranged for, and hotel reservations are made. Now all I need to do is solidify my spring break plans to venture back to my old college stomping grounds to get together w/some dear friends and drink us some green beer (fookin' eye-reesh!). Can hardly contain myself!!!! Of course, I am a bit disappointed that I won't be able to make the Moore Hall Reunion (my friend Jana even offered me a place to stay, not a minor inconvenience since she & her hubby just moved in a few weeks ago), but due to the purchases outlined above, I think it would be prudent to stay home. The hypocricy of lamenting about my debt, getting a second job to knock it out, then the first chance I get, racking up more bills to high away on unplanned weekenders is just too much. I'm keeping my eye on the prize (and my credit cards under lock & key).

That's right, it's the New and Improved Me! Livin' on grits n' wits, looking forward to the card my mom sends me every Valentines Day, being thankful for the friends and family that stick by me....but staying true to my roots, 'cause if I dont know you: PAWS OFF!
